RKYHS seniors had the special opportunity to hear from Rav Dov Zinger, an Israeli educator, spiritual thinker, writer and humorist. Rav Dov is the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Mekor Chaim high school in Gush Etzion and the founder of the Beit Midrash L’Hitchadshut and its Lifnai v’Lifnim educator training program. Rav Dov spoke to the seniors about how they should approach the many decisions they are facing this year, looking inside themselves for the truth that they know is within them. He encouraged them to connect to their true selves and to Hashem as a compass for living happy, meaningful lives.
RKYHS is one of four schools in the United States working with Rav Zinger and his team to help enrich and deepen students’ experience as a community of learners through the Lifnai v’Lifnim educator program to teach the program’s philosophy. The program addresses how to establish a culture of God awareness in schools, how to ensure that the Torah students learn not only impacts their understanding of Judaism but also deepens their spiritual connection with God and utilizes a more holistic view of the faculty and student experience in schools.
