Rav Meir Goldwicht’s YouTube Channel Will Keep You Inspired All Summer Long

Summer is upon us and many weekly shiurim are going on hiatus. However, regulars to Rav Meir Goldwicht’s Tuesday night Parshat HaShavua Shiur at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun no longer worry. Nor do they get as upset as they used to if they can’t attend the shiur in person on a particular week. That’s because since last summer, Rav Goldwicht has been recording short vorts on the weekly parsha and posting them on YouTube. Ranging in length from three-and-a-half minutes to five-and-a-half minutes, they focus on one or two particular insights into the weekly parsha.

Rav Goldwicht told The Jewish Link, “Sharing words of Torah is extremely important to me. While I love my time learning with the boys at Camp Mesorah, many of my regular talmidim and talmidot in Teaneck and the other cities I give shiur expressed sadness that they would be without a shiur for the whole summer. So we started last summer with a WhatsApp group for some of my students, but after the summer we kept going. Now it’s nearly a year and people keep encouraging me to continue, so I do.”

Debby Sondheim, a regular of the Teaneck shiur, shared, “I have been a fan of Rav Goldwicht’s for many years. His smile, warmth and love of Torah radiate from his very being. He lights up the room with his beautiful, inspiring Hebrew, infused with passion for the people of Israel, the Torah of Israel and of course the land of Israel. Each of his weekly classes [is] imbued with lessons of love and encouragement. The ideas Rav Goldwicht shares enhance my week and provide all those attending with uplifting ideals and goals to strive for and focus on. I look forward to each Tuesday. And if I am unable to attend, there is always the mini-shiurim via YouTube that can be viewed. The same warm smile and inspiring words await those who view Rav Goldvicht online!”

Dr. Brian Katz, a long-time attendee of the Teaneck shiur shared, “Rav Goldwicht brings an inspirational and energetic Parshat HaShavua Shiur to our shul each week. His insights are always interesting and these together with his love of Israel are a pleasure to listen to whether in person or online.”

Rav Goldwicht is a rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva University’s Mazer School of Talmudic Studies, head of the Stone Beit Medrash Program and rosh kollel at Camp Mesorah.
