Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

The Rabbinical Council of Bergen County is proud to support the new Bergen County Shomrim group and their important role in the community at a time of rising antisemitism both locally and nationally.

The experience of the group’s leadership, the requirement for all members to undergo nationally recognized neighborhood watch training, as well as the outstanding and professional relationship that the group maintains with municipal authorities and law enforcement, gives us full confidence that this group will enhance the security of the Jewish community.

In addition, the group’s eagerness to partner not only with law enforcement but also with our friends and neighbors from outside of the Jewish community within our townships ensures that Bergen County Shomrim will strengthen harmony in our townships, something we all greatly appreciate and value.

We wish Bergen County Shomrim great hatzlacha in their important work, and look forward to working together with them on behalf of the kehillah, by providing rabbinic support and halachic guidance.

We encourage all those who are able to do so to become involved in the organization.

New Program for Jewish Students in Public School

Chabad of Teaneck is pleased to announce a new initiative called דרכו- Darco

(חנוך לנער על פי דרכו), Educate a Child According to His Way. The new initiative will match up high school seniors from local Jewish schools with public school children ages 4-14.

The students will meet at Chabad of Teaneck where they will learn Jewish subjects. A custom learning curriculum will be designed for each match catering to the individual’s learning level and capabilities.

Subjects will include Alef-Bet, kriah, basic Hebrew, Jewish holidays and customs, parsha, Chumash and more.

Parents will decide the number of sessions per month, choosing from once a month to four times a month. The fee is $30 per hour session, which will go directly to the teacher/senior. For more information, email Rabbi Goldin at [email protected]
