OHEL’s Inaugural Real Estate 200 (RE200) Was the Real Deal

(Courtesy of OHEL) On April 9th OHEL Children’s Home and Family Services welcomed 200 leading NEW York area real estate professionals to the landmark Apple Bank for Savings on the Upper West Side.

It was an opportunity for 200 invited members of the real estate industry to meet with today’s most notable and successful real estate entrepreneurs, including Frank Menlo from LA (Miracle Mile Properties), panel moderator Aaron Jungreis of Rosewood, and panelists Ralph Herzka (Meridian Capital), Yoni Jonathan Leifer, (L3C Capital), Toby Moskowitz (Heritage Equity), andAsher Abehsera (LIVWRK).

David Brecher (FM Home Loans), OHEL Board Member and President of Camp Kaylie, opened the evening, provided a brief, passionate introduction about his support for the work of OHEL and Camp Kaylie and how, like physical real estate, OHEL provides a solid foundation of critical services that strengthens the community.

Jungreis, a highly successful commercial broker, moderated a diversity of questions and conversations amongst panelists and attendees. Panelists each shared “how it all began” for them in real estate, and provided forecasts and projections for the real estate market, in addition to advice to the budding real estate entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Annette Rubin, (Oxford Realty, NJ) OHEL Board member and Development Committee Co-Chair commented that “RE200 was unique in so many ways. It provided for an informative evening full of great energy, and provided key networking opportunities amongst top real estate professionals and the young professionals of tomorrow.”

Frank Menlo asked “What makes a person successful?” and spoke about the importance of members of the industry giving back to the less fortunate. He laid out his five-part strategy including: Belief that all success emanates from God; honesty must be a cornerstone in business; commitment to family; and the recognition that what you give to charity you actually keep forever!

Robert Katz, Chief Development Officer at OHEL commented that “Frank’s powerful comments embraced the essence of the many benefactors of OHEL. Their support transforms the lives of thousands, not for one day, not for one year, but for a lifetime. Donors to OHEL understand that they get back just as much as they give.”

OHEL thanks David Brecher, Aaron Jungreis, Steven Hurwitz (CAVU Group) and Annette Rubin for creating this event, a testimony to their commitment and dedication to OHEL. Ralph Herzka, CEO and President of Meridian Capital and a long-time friend and supporter of OHEL co-sponsored the event.
