Max Wisotsky’s latest missive (“Practical as Well as Spiritual Torah Teachings Are Timeless” July 15, 2021) invites us to join him in the reality-distortion field. Under the guise of praising Torah values, he states that observant Jews are less affected by COVID. This flies in the face of the facts. The Jewish community of New Rochelle was one of the first epicenters of COVID, we in Bergen county were especially hard hit, and the charedi communities of Monsey, Brooklyn and Israel were ravaged by COVID.
If even Fox News is compelled to flash disclaimers during the inflammatory speech of the ex-POTUS, shouldn’t this publication exercise similar discretion when publicizing misinformation, which may contribute to the mortality of the pandemic?
