The beloved and admired rebbetzin of The Synagogue of the Suburban Torah Center in Livingston, joins the Judaic Studies faculty, filling the newly created position of mashgicha ruchanit, inspirational and spiritual leader of the school.

In her role as mashgicha ruchanit, Rebbetzin Proops will teach midot to girls in their Judaic Studies classes, she will introduce a wide range of chesed opportunities for students and lead small learning cohorts, vaadim, to girls who want to pursue additional Torah education opportunities.

“I am so excited to join the incredible Judaic studies team at RKYHS,” commented Rebbetzin Proops. “I have been so warmly welcomed by students and faculty and can’t wait to hit the ground running.”

Rebbetzin Proops is well known in the post yeshiva high school community where she distinguished herself at Midreshet Moriah as a leader in Torah instruction for girls throughout her career. Her passion for Torah study and her ability to teach, reach and inspire students are hallmarks of her professional practice. Many of the RKYHS alumni benefited from her influence and expressed their reverence and respect for Rebbetzin Proops as a Torah instructional leader.

Prior to arriving in Livingston, Proops was the mashgicha ruchanit in the middle school at Yavneh Hebrew Academy in Los Angeles and previously ran chesed programming through NCSY at Shalhevet High School and YULA Girls.

“We are confident that Rebbetzin Proops will be a formidable force for Torah education in RKYHS,” commented Rabbi Eliezer Rubin, head of school and Klatt Family rosh hayeshiva.

This position complements the mashgiach ruchani for the RKYHS male students.
