Refaenu is offering a Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop on February 9. The event will be an eight-hour training session for adults assisting young people. Session topics include:
• How to spot risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems
• How to spot the signs of mental-health and substance-use emergencies
• A five-step action plan to assess the situation, select and implement interventions, and help adolescents in crisis
The event will take place at Congregation Shaare Tefillah, 510 Claremont Ave., Teaneck, on Sunday, February 9, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Cost is $50 for course and materials/takeaway training manuals.
