For anyone that came to hear the Knesset member Orit Farkash Hacohen, I am the proud wife of the gentleman who was thrown out. Now I would like to explain what was really going on. Ms. Farkash Hacohen is a politician, just like all politicians, except that she speaks Hebrew. I am sure that most of the people in the audience are unable to keep up with the daily goings on in Israel. My husband is Israeli and listens to the daily news in Hebrew. He was also in the Israeli air force and gave four years of his life for his country. While he did leave Israel, Israel never left him. He is in constant contact with relatives, friends and business associates that let him know what is “really” going on. Ms. Farkash was counting on her audience having little knowledge and she was successful or more people in the audience would have been incensed. The fact is that the reforms are a minor part of what is going on; the real issue is that the assimilated Jews absolutely despise the ultra Orthodox. If you don’t believe me, click on videos and hear the hatred coming from the mouths of our “brothers and sisters.” I heard this quote from Yishai Fleisher, a right-wing activist living in Israel: “The left would prefer to burn down the country rather than hand over the keys to the religious and right wing.”
How many know how the judicial system actually works in Israel? How many of you would like to know the history of the modern state of Israel from someone who has actually lived it? Ask yourself why this Knesset member was speaking negatively about frum Jews in an Orthodox shul and no one found that offensive. Why was the rabbi the only one to ask questions? Was Ms. Farkash Hacohen afraid to get someone like my husband who would actually question her and dispute her facts? What I can tell you, my dear Jews, is to please educate yourself and do your homework; don’t just take what any politician tells you as the “gospel.” You will probably get a rude awakening, and that will be to your advantage.
