In commemoration of September 11, Tenafly Chabad Academy fifth through eighth graders welcomed Jamie Lassner, a member of Manhattan Hatzalah and 9/11 first responder. Lassner captivated the students by recounting his experience at Ground Zero and his subsequent journey coping with the emotional and physical trauma from that day. The discussion that followed focused on our country’s ability to unite and become stronger as a result of the attack, as well as the importance of helping others on a daily basis. Teachers challenged students to remember the attack by committing themselves to undertake a positive act that would make their community a better place.
