Information sessions for volunteer tutors will take place on Tuesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 25, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jewish Family Service Halpern Building, located at 655 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth. Join Educational Consultant Shari Faleck and RSVP Coordinator Amy Levine, to learn how you can help local students achieve their academic goals. Lunch will be served. (Kosher dietary laws observed.)
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for Union County, New Jersey, hosted by Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey, engages people 55+ to volunteer their services to meet critical community needs and provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers. Volunteer opportunities run the gamut from packing and delivering emergency food packages, harvesting vegetables at community gardens, visiting homebound seniors, tutoring school aged children, serving at a Congregate Nutrition site and more.
