Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

RJFL, sponsored by Whee/SR Play, delivered plenty of excitement this week. The top two seeds, Disciples of Discipline and h.bixondesigns, both dominated their respective matchups. However, the other two games offered significantly more drama.

In a defensive showdown, The Jewish Link faced off against Brudershaft. Determined to avenge a crushing 39-12 regular-season loss, Noah Greenwald and Isaac Weinstock stepped up in a big way. The duo connected on two perfectly executed fade passes to the back of the endzone, shocking the favored Brudershaft with a 19-6 victory.

Meanwhile, the matchup between BSYD and Beepers was the thriller of the week. As the 3-seed, Beepers entered the game as heavy favorites. However, defensive stops were rare in this back-and-forth battle, as both teams put on an offensive clinic. Tani Engel and Yehuda Schmutter for BSYD and Abe Goldman and Stevie Paul for the Beepers traded scores back and forth until the very end. With just 30 seconds remaining, Tani Engel found his tight end for a miraculous game-winning touchdown, securing a narrow 31-30 victory. The win earned BSYD a spot in the second round, where they’ll face the top-seeded Disciples of Discipline.
