Yom Ha’atzmaut at RKYHS was a celebratory day filled with ruach and excitement for Israel’s 75th birthday. The day began with a musical Hallel. RKYHS then joined all of JKHA on the outdoor recreation space to open the day with tefillah for Israel, a spectacular daglanut dance by the eighth grade girls, followed by “Hatikvah.” A lively school-wide chagiga filled with energetic dancing completed the opening program.

RKYHS students then had learning sessions where they learned Torat Yisroel from Judaic Studies faculty. They then had the privilege to hear from Julia Jassey, CEO of Jewish on Campus and learned about how and what they can do to defend and be proud of their Judaism in any situation and setting. The afternoon was filled with team building activities with the Israeli organization Shlavim, Rebar smoothies with the bnot sherut, Israel Escape the Room, Dead Sea facials, Israel-themed mosaic art projects and more!
