RKYHS students used the time during the Aseret Yemei Teshuva to reflect and to maximize opportunities for mitzvot and inspiration.

During the Aseret Yemei Teshuva, RKYHS welcomed different community rabbis each day who spoke to students after davening to provide words of chizuk and inspiration during this time period. RKYHS thanks Rabbi Klibanoff of Etz Chaim in Livingston, Rabbi Marcus of Congregation Israel of Springfield, Rabbi Proops of Suburban Torah in Livingston, and Rabbi Zwickler of AABJ&D in West Orange for uplifting the students during this time.

Students in RKYHS also engaged in tashlich walks last week. With the beautiful weather as a backdrop, students took a short walk to a nearby water source and had the opportunity to say tashlich if they had not yet done so. Students also then came together to songs related to the Yamim Noraim, preparing for Yom Kippur in a fun and meaningful way.

RKYHS students took part in a hatarat nedarim. Different RKYHS rebbeim led everyone together as they participated in a process during the Aseret Yemei Teshuva to nullify any vows or commitments that were made this year, either explicit or implied that they couldn’t keep.
