RKYHS concluded the last days of Chanukah with meaningful and fun programming. Students participated in a Yom Iyun focused on the concept of hiddur mitzvah (enhancing the performance of a commandment). They had the opportunity to hear from several teachers on the halachic, Tanachic, and philosophical dimensions of hiddur mitzvah.

Throughout the week the RKYHS Jewish Life Committee enhanced Chanukah and distributed various treats like sufganiyot, gelt and blue and white cookies. The Jewish Life Committee and Israel Action Club ran an unbelievable program on the sixth day. The JLC put together an exciting Chanukah game show and the Israel Action Club ran a tzedakah raffle with prizes donated by the RKYHS teachers and faculty with the ticket proceeds being given to Israel.

There were special Chanukah-themed tisches at school for 11th and 12th grade. Boys enjoyed singing with the addition of delicious latkes as the girls played a Chanukah-themed game of Coke and Pepsi and a Chanukah Kahoot! On Monday, RKYHS experienced an unbelievable magic performance by Shlomo Levinger. Students were amazed by his mind-blowing tricks as he involved students in faculty to display his talent! Students capped off the week of Chanukah with more visits to their teachers homes for dinner and singing.
