In commemoration of Yom Hazikaron, RKYHS students gathered together to hear stories of fallen soldiers and victims of terror. Throughout the program, teachers and students shared personal reflections, highlighting the lives and legacies of individuals through video and song, as they focused on stories both old and recent. At the end of today’s program, the RKYHS student body learned the Mishnayot of Masechet Shabbat together, transforming the auditorium into a beit midrash filled with the sounds of Torah being learned to honor the lives that were lost. To conclude the program, Rabbi Rubin spoke about each student’s personal connection to the State of Israel and their commitment to their own Jewish identity.
