The 14th annual Rikudiah, the inter-yeshiva high school girls’ dance competition and tzedaka fundraiser, took place this past Sunday, December 15. Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School was thrilled to host this inspiring event, which provides students passionate about dance the opportunity to showcase their talents, take on leadership roles and produce their own creative works in a meaningful setting.
Teams from RKYHS, Hillel, Flatbush, Maayanot, Ramaz, HAFTR, HANC, Ilan, SAR, Frisch, Barkai and Central competed, delivering exceptional performances. The event featured incredible talent, creative themes and intricate choreography. Three professional dancers served as judges, determining the winners: Ilan took first place, RKYHS placed second and Maayanot came in third. RKYHS is proud of the work of their dance team who performed a breathtaking dance routine that was a take on the Disney Pixar short “Paper Man,” incorporating highlighting the news of the last year and the relationship between Israel and America. The performance also incorporated the beautiful “Paper Man” score. The JKHA middle and lower schools dance club wowed the huge crows in attendance as they performed at the half time show. As the first-place winners, the Ilan dance team will select the tzedaka to which the event proceeds will be donated.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening was the program’s conclusion, where all the dance teams, joined by spectators, danced together. Watching over 200 yeshiva high school girls from different schools singing and dancing in unity was a beautiful expression of achdut.
RKYHS invites women and girls to experience the excitement next year at the 15th annual Rikudiah! For more information, contact CM Gerson, Rikudiah coordinator, at [email protected].
