The Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School Drama Society is excited to bring the Emmy-award winning musical High School Musical to life on the mainstage. The cast and crew have been hard at work for their performance coming up this Monday, December 19, at 7pm.
High School Musical takes on a new, fresh life when it appears onstage at RKYHS. A younger generation has discovered the optimistic spirit of this infectious musical. The RKYHS Drama Society students are proud to let their voices be heard with a message for everyone. Disney’s High School Musical began as a made-for-television movie. It quickly became one of the most watched events in television history. In 2006, the show swept through the awards season, winning with the Emmy, Teen Choice, American Music, TV Critics and Billboards Music Awards. Two sequels followed, with a third on its way. The talented kids from High School Musical are now known by school-aged kids across the world.
Fresh Theatre Arts CEO, Tova Halpern, directs the Kushner production. “It has been a wonderful experience working with these amazing actors,” says Halpern. “I am especially proud of the cooperation, mutual respect, level of commitment and teamwork that has been demonstrated by everyone in this production.”
The cast is made up of 20 kids, in an hour of onstage music and fun. The set was developed and worked on by RKYHS students as well.
Come see what everyone’s been raving about: Disney’s High School Musical onstage at the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School’s Epstein-Stein Auditorium at 7pm on Monday, December 19. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
