RKYHS is excited to expand its computer science program to a full four-year concentration of course offerings from ninth-12th grade. Courses include Introduction to Computer Science, AP Computer Science A, Advanced Computer Science and Quantitative Computer Science and Data Modeling.
The program will be led by Dr. W. Scott Stonetta, who has been a leader in the field. Dr. Stornetta received his Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University as well as degrees, studies and positions from MIT, BYU and Rutgers. He also held positions at Bell Labs and was one of the developers/inventors of BlockChain. He retired from Bellcore as assistant general manager of the mathematical and computer sciences research lab, then shifted his focus to teaching math and computer science to high school students. Dr Stornetta’s research interests include neural networks, cryptography and a variety of topics in behavioral economics.
RKYHS looks forward to this expanded computer science program and the opportunities it will provide for its students.
