Over the course of the year, RKYHS ninth grade girls have had the opportunity to participate in regular girls lunches for the students in their grade. The girls in the grade have lunch with each other in small groups facilitated by guidance and student activities faculty members. Spearheaded by Ms. Stiefel, the designated ninth grade adviser, faculty member Ms. Fuchs and Student Activities Director Ms. Gerson, the program creates opportunities for all the girls to socialize and get to know their classmates outside of the classroom, especially important in their first year in the high school. Being able to enjoy an amazing lunch together is an added bonus! The freshmen girls lunch program is just one of the many programs targeted towards freshmen that help integrate them into RKYHS and get to know their classmates.
