The RKYHS Homeless Awareness Club is one of the many active organizations that thrive at RKYHS. They run clothing drives and organize other efforts to help the homeless. The group was thrilled to be back in Newark last week to hand out much needed food and clothing to the homeless in the streets surrounding Penn Station. Over 30 RKYHS students attended the trip.

Earlier in the week, the club visited second grade to team up with the younger students for a joint clothing drive on behalf of the homeless. The high school students shared their experiences of helping the homeless. The two groups of students appealed to school families to bring in clothing to donate which will be distributed by the RKYHS Homeless Awareness Club on their upcoming visit to Newark’s homeless.
