Livingston, NJ–On December 26, close to 40 young alumni of the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School met at the school while they were home from college for winter break. The attendees had all graduated from RKYHS in the last several years and were excited to come back to visit the school, reminisce with classmates, see current students, and catch up with former teachers.
As part of the morning’s event, the RKYHS alumni participated in engaging and informative round table discussions. School faculty and administration had the opportunity to hear from these students about a variety of topics including anti-Israel activity on their college campuses and their ideas for how to prepare RKYHS students to be strong Israel advocates when they get to college.
Other highlights of the morning included two members of the Class of 2011, Jacob Koenigson and Jon Liebman, speaking about their recent time serving in Tzahal, and their experience while training in the Tanks division and the Golani Brigade. Additionally, Adina Lichtman, also from the Class of 2011, shared her insights on how she started her non-profit, “Knock Knock Give a Sock,” at NYU which has now spread to more than 20 college campuses and numerous day schools and has collected over 15,000 pairs of socks, the most needed yet least donated article of clothing for those experiencing homelessness.
The students truly enjoyed their opportunity to bond and reconnect, and look forward to more school sponsored reunions in the future.
