RKYHS students had their first SEED (Student Enrichment, Education and Development) speaker of the year. Each week through the SEED Program, RKYHS students hear new perspectives on a wide range of topics from accomplished and broad-thinking professionals.
The first speaker was Scott Chesney, a world-renowned motivational speaker and life coach who has been navigating a life with paralysis for 38 years after awakening to paralysis at the age of 15 from a sudden spinal stroke. Chesney inspired students with his talk on ways to thrive, especially amidst challenges they may face in their lives. He offered students ways to build resilience, deal with situations that are out of their control, and ways to move forward when they feel powerless. Chesney later spoke to the freshmen class to help ease them into their new chapter in high school.
