The RKYHS Mock Trial team headed to the courthouse this week for the Essex County mock trial competition. Students took on the roles of both the prosecution and defense in a product liability case against a dog shampoo company. The case centered on whether the shampoo was responsible for the death of a dog. The students presented evidence, examined witnesses and made compelling arguments on both sides, showcasing their legal reasoning and debate skills. Ultimately, the competition tested their ability to analyze complex legal issues and think critically under pressure.

Students in the RKYHS Art program joined the RKYHS Mock Trial team at the Veteran’s Courthouse this week and worked on their sketching skills and assumed the role of courtroom artist at the trial. Students captured the courtroom in the sketch medium, working rapidly, using multiple skills.
