The RKYHS Muslim-Jewish Exchange Program visited a Muslim high school in Union City, NJ. The students began the afternoon by eating lunch together, talking about concerns, questioning assumptions, delving into differences and exploring similarities. The day culminated with a circle discussion wherein students from both schools were able to ask questions of one another; the variety of topics ranged from a woman’s role in each religion, to reasons for various customs. Both groups agreed that this was a meaningful and educationally productive experience. The next stage of the program will include visits from Muslim students to RKYHS.
