To accommodate different preferences and learning styles, faculty member Deborah Orens’ twelfth grade English class regularly meets in literature circles to discuss a variety of books. Students select their own discussion topics based on their personal interests, and engage in rich conversations that enhance their comprehension. Using literature circles provides an enjoyable, cooperative environment that highlights the relevance of all different types of literature.
