RKYHS STEM Students Take Home Awards at CIJE Innovation Day

Twenty seven RKYHS students joined over 1,000 Jewish high school students from across the country to present their capstone engineering projects at the CIJE Innovation Day conference. The RKYHS presenters were 10th, 11th and 12th grade STEM students in the biomedical engineering, genetic engineering and scientific engineering classes. RKYHS STEM students work all year long on their capstone projects with the goal of solving real world problems. For Innovation Day, each student had to create a website and video as well as present before judges and an audience. RKYHS took home two first prize awards for Best Presentations for 12th grader Dani Bank’s Heralding Headband, an EEG device to predict the onset of a narcoleptic attack, and 12th grader Roey Novick’s “Identifying the Role of CFH in the Pathogenesis of AMD (age related macular degeneration). First prize for Best Website Design was awarded to 10th grader Eitan Schnur’s Ultravision. RKYHS is proud of all of its budding engineers for their great work!
