RKYHS students and JKHA eighth graders took part in a spirited presidential debate. The program was entirely student-run and student-led with the “candidates” and moderators represented by the school’s award-winning RKYHS debate team. Following the same model of the presidential debates from this election season, the candidates were asked questions by the moderators. Questions were submitted in advance from students in grades eight through 12 as well as determined by the moderators. Topics the candidates were questioned about included the economy, Israel, foreign policy and immigration. The debate brought to life the classroom discussions that have been taking place in classrooms on election issues throughout the election season.
