RKYHS Students Enjoy Lower Manhattan

As a culmination of their course of study, students from the RKYHS law, economics and politics course, and AP macroeconomics course, toured some of the most important landmarks of the financial capital of the world.

Students began their day with a private tour of the New York Stock Exchange. Students were thrilled to be on the floor of the NYSE where the economic fate of the world is determined each day. Students then walked to Federal Hall to see where George Washington was sworn in as the first President of the United States in our nation’s first capital. Students were also introduced to the “The Corner,” the former center of the House of Morgan, a two story building, built on almost an entire city block in an age of skyscrapers on what was the most expensive property in the world.

After visiting the financial district, students enjoyed a delicious lunch out. Following lunch, students walked to the World Trade Center Memorial to pay homage to the victims and heroes of that infamous day.

We are grateful our students were able to participate in this exciting, experiential learning project. RKYHS students are also fortunate to be able to have access to the great cultural heritage of New York City while balancing it with their beautiful suburban campus.
