RKYHS welcomed its first SEED (Student Enrichment, Education and Development) speaker of the year, three time author and coach, Cornell Thomas. Each week, students at RKYHS attend the SEED program to hear new perspectives on a wide range of topics from accomplished and broad-thinking professionals and volunteers. A global speaker, Thomas addressed the RKYHS students about being resilient during times of tribulation. He shared his personal story that helped him find his purpose and taught him life lessons. Through candid and humorous examples, Thomas stressed the importance of working towards a goal, being your own biggest cheerleader and not letting doubt get in the way. As the students begin the new school year, his message of having a positive mindset, setting priorities, dealing with negative people, being inclusive and being a leader resonated with everyone in the room.
