RKYHS Students Hear From West Point Veteran

For their weekly SEED speaker, RKYHS students heard from Lieutenant Colonel Fuhriman from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. LTC Fuhriman is an aviation officer with experience in general support battalions, training battalions and operational assignments in Afghanistan and Korea.

LTC Fuhriman, who has been in active duty for 25 years, explained the makeup of the U.S. army, spoke about his own experience, offered the history surrounding Veteran’s Day and more. He has also had the opportunity to visit Israel with the Miryam Institute and spoke to students about his experience there.

In honor of LTC Fuhriman’s visit and as a thank you for his service and for inspiring RKYHS students with his commitment to our country, RKYHS expressed gratitude with a donation to Steel Hearts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the legacies of our nation’s fallen service academy cadets, midshipmen, and graduates of the United States Military Academy.

LTC Fuhriman’s talk reinforced the importance for students of honoring those that came before us and those that continue to serve our country and protect our freedoms.
