RKYHS volunteered with the AFYA Foundation to assist with earthquake relief. The AFYA Foundation is working with partnership organizations to support the relief efforts for those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. At the warehouse, a group of RKYHS students assisted in sorting through the vast array of collected items before they were airlifted to the region. The group also had an opportunity to meet with the founder of the AFYA Foundation Danielle Butin and learn more about the organization. AFYA creates access to critical medical supplies where there is none and navigates the logistical challenges to deliver collected and donated medical and humanitarian supplies at home and around the world. Students appreciated being able to take part in this incredible opportunity to see and be part of the large-scale humanitarian efforts.
