In upperclassmen female Tanach classes, students have been engaged in an activity called Tanach Circles. Based on Literature Circles, students have been independently learning various sefarim of Tanach, including Yonah, Rut, Eicha and Esther. In anticipation of each Tanach Circle, students create text-based discussions questions, listen to podcasts, illustrate meaningful moments and connect the text to current events and their own lives. They then meet in groups to present their learning and discuss their ideas with one another. This process allows students to own their learning in a creative, meaningful way.
