RKYHS came together to Skype with students at Ohr Torah High School in Toulouse, France. The RKYHS students spoke with fellow teenagers, often in their common language of Hebrew, about how the Jews in France are managing today with the constant threats from Muslim fundamentalists. The French students discussed what they are experiencing and what life is like for them living as Jews in France, and at their school. Their school was the site of a terrorist attack in 2012 which killed four people, including school-aged children. The teacher in the room spoke about all of the victims and the security situation at the school, including armed soldiers living on the premises. The session ended with students from both schools singing Hatikivah together. The two schools have set up a joint Facebook page so that they can continue the dialogue and stay in touch.
