A group of RKYHS students took part in “Never Is Now,” ADL’s Annual Summit on Anti-Semitism and Hate, and the leading conference about understanding and defeating anti-Semitism and all forms of hate. The conference focused on reversing the rise in anti-Semitism in the U.S. and abroad and fighting back against bigotry of all kinds.
The students attended the morning plenary where they heard a number of speakers including Elan Carr, the U.S. special envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism and Isaac Herzog, chairman of the executive, The Jewish Agency for Israel. They attended breakout sessions all day long on topics such as “Voices from Campus—exploring anti-Semitism and its impact on college and university communities” and “The Jewish Kaleidoscope—strengthening the community’s fabric by embracing our diversity.” The students had the opportunity to hear a special address for high school students delivered by Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO and national director of the ADL who spoke about what they can do to fight anti-Semitism, even as high school students.
