RKYHS students recently had the privilege to hear from Michal Salomon. With poise, humility and grace, Salomon recounted the details of the Friday evening, this past summer, when a terrorist infiltrated the home of her in-laws in Chalamish, Israel where she, her husband Elad and their five children, along with Elad’s family had gathered to celebrate the shalom zachar of their newest family member. With unimaginable strength, Salomon spoke of protecting her children while her husband fought the terrorist downstairs. Elad, his father and sister were all killed that night. Not a sound could be heard throughout the auditorium as students listened to Salomon’s words and learned about Elad as a person, father and husband. Salomon inspired the students as she shared the lasting message to look on the bright side of life, that it will give you strength and make you keep going, no matter what happens.
