Kol hakavod to the RKYHS students whose art and writing earned each of them a Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s largest, longest-running, most prestigious visual and literary arts program recognizing accomplishments of students in grades 7-12. Former winners include writers and artists Joyce Carol Oates, Jonathan Safran Foer, Robert Redford, Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Amanda Gorman, among many other famous American writers and artists.
The RKYHS students earned Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mention awards in the northeast regional competition for their art and writing. Their work won awards in the categories of Flash Fiction, Short Story, Personal Essay, Poetry and digital art pieces. Those who earned Gold Key awards will be entered into the national competition.
