Ninth grade boys recently concluded a Tefillah In Tanach project. Several weeks ago each student in the class was assigned a personality from Tanach who at some point in his or her life had offered a tefillah. The students researched their personality and wrote a report about what led their personality to offer the tefillah, what was the tefillah, and what was the result of the tefillah. The student then had to cover what they learned from the tefillah on a personal level and what line in the siddur now became more meaningful to them because of their research. In addition each student gave a presentation to the class accompanied by a PowerPoint, sharing their research with the class. The students really immersed themselves in the project, and received inspiration from their research to enhance their own personal tefillot.
