RKYHS Welcomes Freshman Class

Welcome to the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School Class of 2026! The new RKYHS freshmen spent the opening of school getting acclimated to high school. Forty two percent of the students in the freshmen class have come from outside of JKHA (nursery-eighth grade division located on the Livingston, New Jersey campus), and hail from communities beyond the school’s immediate environs including Bergen County, Middlesex County and Staten Island. The students join RKYHS from over a dozen elementary schools.

The first week for freshmen was spent getting to know one another, the school and administration and faculty. Students met with senior peer leaders, participated in ice breakers, got to know the school’s systems, extra curricular activities and more. The ninth graders also participated in a rotation each day of the different ninth grade electives in order to be introduced to them prior to selecting which one to pursue. Elective options for RKYHS freshmen include Computer Science, Introduction to Business, Fitness Training, Science by Design and Visual Arts. The first week concluded with a sweet ending as they enjoyed the ice cream truck visit to RKYHS.
