The Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School wrestling team racked up three straight wins last week defeating Morris Catholic, Hudson Catholic, and YDH. Coach Cilio believes the underclassmen and lesser experienced wrestlers are starting to step up and show noticeable improvement in their wrestling. Their hard work is paying dividends as they continue to improve and show promise in representing the team. Wrestlers that came aboard midway through the season are also demonstrating strong potential that will hopefully be realized over time.
This week also brought good news with two wrestlers finally making it down to the weight classes in which they plan on wrestling at the Wittenberg Tournament and are now certified at that weight. These two wrestlers will cut down on the number of forfeits the team has been giving up, and help move in the direction of filling out the lineup. With only 30 days left until Nationals, Kushner will put its best foot forward and hope to make a solid impact when it arrives at Yeshiva University in February.
