Yom Ha’atzmaut is always an exciting day at RPRY! The entire school assembled outside for the annual parade around the neighborhood. With the police blocking off the streets, they sang and danced in the road, waving flags and celebrating Medinat Yisrael.

The festivities continued inside. Students in early childhood and kindergarten were able to visit different cities or locations in Israel, including the beach in Ashdod, the Kotel in Yerushalayim, the Carmel Dance Festival, the Digs at Yam Hamelech, a secret army base and the shuk in Yerushalayim. The program concluded with a birthday party for Eretz Yisrael.

RPRY’s lower and middle school students were broken up into groups and visited different stations. These stations creatively taught the students about the different eidot who have made aliyah, including American, Post-Shoah, Yeminite, Russian, Moroccan and French Jewry.

It was an exciting and educational day that everyone was able to enjoy!
