The RPRY early childhood students had a hands-on and immersive experience when Rabbi Azimov led an interactive matzah bakery at school. Excitement filled the room as the children learned about the mitzvah of making matzah in preparation for Pesach. They eagerly mixed flour and water, feeling the sticky dough between their fingers as they rushed to knead it before the 18-minute time limit. With wooden rollers in hand, they carefully flattened their dough, poking holes to ensure it wouldn’t rise. Rabbi Azimov explained the significance of matzah, connecting the activity to the story of the Jewish people leaving מצרים in a hurry. Finally, they watched as their handmade matzah baked, bringing the Pesach tradition to life in a fun and meaningful way.
