Something was cooking in 7B yesterday and it smelled delicious. After learning the pesukim related to the mitzvah of hafrshas challah, Rabbi Chait wanted to create a hands-on experience that would bring the students’ learning to life. Rather than using a conventional challah-baking activity, Rabbi Chait thought out of the box and chose to make pizza with his class. After reviewing the relevant halachot about this special mitzvah students kneaded the dough in the morning. After allowing enough time for the dough to rise, students learned the proper way to perform the mitzvah and then the boys excitedly made pizza in a Betty Crocker oven which was enjoyed by all at lunch.
