This past Shabbat, seventh grade boys enjoyed RPRY’s first annual Passaic Community Shabbaton which was a ruach-filled and fun-filled Shabbos with rebbeim, their families and friends. A first shabbaton experience for many, students were treated to delicious meals at the homes of Rabbi Ribalt and Rabbi Feit, enjoyed spending time with Rabbi Lapa and Rabbi Chait, experienced davening and the flavor of the community at several Passaic shuls, shared divrei Torah, learned in the beis medrash, sang zemirot together, and relaxed in a special Shabbat atmosphere with games and treats. Over Shabbat students had the privilege to hear from inspiring speakers including Rabbi Eliezer Krohn, Rabbi Nesanel Danto, Rabbi Dovid Hirsch and Rabbi Yehuda Willig. Shabbos ended with a musical Havdala led by an RPRY seventh grade musician, followed by a bonfire, S’mores and a pizza melave malka. The Shabbat was an opportunity for the students to bond with each other and come together as a grade and deepen their relationships with rebbeim.
