RPRY’s sixth grade social studies classes enjoyed a guest seminar by Rabbi Meir Lipschitz to help draw connections between ancient Mesopotamia and Jewish history. Discussion areas included Avraham Avinu and his sojourning from Ur-Kasdim, mentioning of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Bereishis, that the tower of Bavel may have been built in the style of a ziggurat, exploration of the Jewish/Gregorian timelines (via a massive, printed version from the book “Dor L’Dor.”), and much more. RPRY is passionate about building bridges between general and Judaic studies.
