The sixth grade boys at RPRY who were learning about davening ותיקון in מסכת ברכות in their Gemara class had the opportunity to experience this halacha first hand with a special sunrise outing to Donaldson Park. Students braved the chilly morning weather and had an unforgettable experience davening outside with their rebbe and their fathers. Students were treated after davening to hot cocoa, bagels, a game of football and even learned about the proper halacha when washing נטילת ידים in a lake. They sang “Acheinu” together and celebrated the occasion dancing to the song “Thank You Hashem” demonstrating how thankful they were for this special and memorable opportunity. This experience allowed students to internalize the idea that their Torah learning is alive and has real life applications and that it will inspire many future תפילות.
