Rabbi Chait’s eighth grade is learning perek “Eilu Metziot” which is all about the mitzvah of hashavat avedah, returning a lost object. To start off the year, the class went on a metziah hunt outside the school and found all sorts of interesting things that somebody lost. They found some scattered coins, scattered fruit, raw wool, baker’s bread, a bundle of wheat, a tongue of purple wool and even strings of fish! Who lost all that?! Those items were just the cases that the first Mishna talked about and students were able to hold the props as they learned the Mishna.
