In an email to school parents and community supporters on August 27, Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva’s Head of School Rabbi Daniel Loew announced his plans to leave the yeshiva at the end of the school year.

“I am writing to share with you the news that this will be my last year as Head of School at RPRY. Over the last few months, I have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to search for my next professional opportunity and have shared with the Board of Governors that I will not seek a renewal of my contract.”

“RPRY is a very special yeshiva with an impressive history and beautiful culture. Serving as Head of School has been a privilege and a blessing and it is with mixed emotions that I make plans to move on. I am proud of all that we have been able to accomplish together in my seven years with the school. I also feel tremendous hakarat hatov for the privilege I was afforded in leading an institution with such an important mission and with such noble values.”

Responding to Rabbi Loew’s announcement, School President Tova Renna wrote in the same email: “Under Rabbi Loew’s leadership, we have seen the strengthening of our faculty and the hiring of several strategic positions, the creation and development of the RPRY Think Tank, the implementation of updated security protocols, the professionalization of our admissions and recruitment processes, improvement of fiscal oversight, as well as the advancement of hundreds of graduates who are excelling in high school, Israel and college.

“Over the last year, Rabbi Loew was at the forefront of our community in leading the response to COVID-19, and setting policies to keep our community, families, and students safe, while learning in person,” Renna continued. “We thank Rabbi Loew for his leadership and incredible dedication to RPRY and wish him much Hatzlacha as he heads into the next stage of his career.

“We have formed a Search Committee that will identify and hire the candidate who will continue to build on our success and lead RPRY into the future. I will share more information in the coming weeks.”

Commenting to The Jewish Link, Renna added: “I [owe] tremendous hakarat hatov to Rabbi Loew for leading us, particularly through this very challenging time. He has accomplished a lot during his time at RPRY and we are grateful for all he has done.”
