March is a month to remember the importance and joy of reading, both for pleasure and learning. RPRY students, even in elementary grades, develop their self-awareness of their thinking processes. By sharing aloud in beginner Socratic circles, students had safe spaces to share profound insights about the human condition. Ranging from a first grader who shared about what it means to “be haughty,” to a fourth grader describing how each group contributed poor choices to create a situation, each child personally shared and modeled listening to their peers.
