As the temperature starts to drop, Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva keeps the learning fired up! As part of their unit on weather and temperature, Emily Menasha and her sixth grade students made their own thermometers to observe first hand the changes in kinetic energy, the movement of particles in the air and how it directly relates to temperature change. Using graduated cylinders, rubbing alcohol, straws and clay, the students built their thermometers and then put them to the test in cold and hot water, observing the changes before their eyes.
