In conjunction with the seventh grade’s unit on the Bill of Rights, the students welcomed guest speaker Eric Morrell, a criminal defense attorney based in New Brunswick. Morrell spoke to the students about the justice system and his work as a criminal defense attorney. The students showed their enthusiasm about the visit in their many questions for him,. They asked, “Could someone be charged for more than one crime at the same time?” In this case, it was better that the learning was not, in fact, hands-on.
